In the middle of the heated debate about who is the King of Dancehall, Bounty Killer is taking another approach. After giving Vybz Kartel a co-sign following his infamous Fox 5 New York feature, Grunggaadzilla is is now giving his frenemy Beenie Man a cosign. It’s hard to tell where the Killer’s heart lies, but he is clearly steering clear of mention the word king when speaking about his comrades in dancehall. In a new post on his Instagram feed, Bounty Killer refers to himself, Buju Banton, and Beenie Man and the all-time G.O.A.T.s of the genre. “The Dancehall Trinity: The Emperors of Dancehall,” he wrote. “These artists, The Three B”s been doing music for over 20 years and are still carrying the torch for Jamaica. Anyplace in the world these artists will pack stadiums and arenas. They achieved every accolade in their careers. Every music industry person involved in this genre who followed in the game after them should pay their utmost respect.” In closing, Killer made sure he pointed out that, “No other artist has hits like The Three B.” Hence the three Bs, Bounty, Buju, and Beenie, are the greatest of all time in dancehall. He also tagged both artists, as well as, Fox 5 New York and the reporter who profiled Vybz Kartel, Lisa Evers. Let’s also not forget that Bounty Killer and Beenie Man has one of the greatest rivalries in dancehall’s history, so there is no incentive for him to make this statement, which means he is being genuine about it.
